BT Broadband

Most of my troubles with BT hopefully will predate this blog but for the first time since using them (2005 onwards) they have emailed me to say that they are going to cap my unlimited connection once I reach 100Gb this month.

Strange that they finally email now when they have admitted on the phone and via emails in the past that they are capping my connection and indeed I find that if I download somewhere around 2Gb in one day then the next few days at least are capped 24×7 which is not as they now claim them will do.

Their current claim implies no capping until you hit 100Gb in a month and they will then cap my connection from 5pm-midnight to 1Gbs for 30 days. Will be interesting to see if this is indeed their new policy (doubt it) since I barely get more than 1Gbs connection anyway (11km line length from exchange) so the stated cap would have no reall effect on me

Sad to say but my custom of many many years to this company has had to end.

Used a link they supplied to renew a domain, added in credit card details got confirmation that the order was saved etc and yet 4 days later nothing.

Asked them to check up on this and got very stroppy replies from their support staff who basically refused to help at all and claimed I had never entered payment info and that I should move my domains and save them the hassle.

They used to be a good company but suffered from being too small to compete, shame that the support is now so shoddy to make it worth moving on
